Choosing fluids for hard-working powersports equipment
ATVs and UTVs can see severe service even at low road speed. Dust, mud, water crossings, long idle periods, towing, plowing and repeated low-speed operation can put heat and contamination into engines, gearcases and driveline components. The correct lubricant starts with the exact machine and the specification required by the manufacturer.
Engine oil
Use the viscosity and performance specification required for the engine. Powersports engines may share oil with other components or use application-specific formulations, so passenger-car oil is not automatically interchangeable.
Transmission & gearcases
